super lawyers parker layrisson law firm layrisson.com ponchatoulaJan. 2, 2013 – For the second year in a row, Louisiana Super Lawyers Magazine has named local lawyer Parker Layrisson to its “Rising Stars” list of the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state.  Less than three percent of Louisiana lawyers make the list.

In 2012, Layrisson was recognized by Super Lawyers for excellence in personal injury law.  This year, he is the only “Rising Star” recognized in the practice area of DWI defense.

“Our entire team deserves to share in this honor,” said Layrisson.  “I’m blessed with an outstanding support staff and exceptional co-counsel.  I could not provide clients this level of legal services without their excellent work.”

The selections for the list are made by the research team at Super Lawyers, which is a service of the Thomson Reuters legal division. The national rating service identifies lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.  Layrisson was named to the “Rising Stars” list, launched in 1998 by Super Lawyers to recognize the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state, those who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

The multi-phased selection process includes peer nominations and independent research. Last year, nearly 5,000 peer nominations were submitted in Louisiana, but no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state received the honor.

Lawyers are evaluated for the list on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement: verdicts; settlements and transactions; representative clients; experience; honors and awards; special licenses and certifications; position within law firm; bar and other professional activity; pro bono and community service; scholarly lectures and writings; education and employment background; and other outstanding achievements.
