Louisiana State Bar Association Recognizes Parker Layrisson For Leading Wills For Heroes

Parker Layrisson

The Louisiana State Bar Association recently recognized Parker Layrisson for his contributions to the Wills for Heroes Initiative of the LSBA Young Lawyers Division.

Earlier this year, Layrisson lead a team of approximately 20 attorneys, notaries, and other volunteers by organizing a Wills for Heroes event at the Ponchatoula Police Department. The event was sponsored by the Wills for Heroes Foundation, LSBA Young Lawyers’ Division, and Ponchatoula Rotary Club. Approximately one third of the Ponchatoula police force received wills at no cost to officers through the Ponchatoula event.

“Wills for Heroes is a great program, and I was thankful for the opportunity to participate,” said Layrisson. “We could not have pulled off a successful event without the hard work of a team of incredible volunteers dedicated to helping protect those who protect us. I’m especially grateful to LSBA Young Lawyers’ Division Chairman Larry Centola and Ponchatoula Chief of Police Bry Layrisson for their support and hard work.”

Wills for Heroes is a statewide program to help police officers, firefighters and other first responders. Through the program, volunteer attorneys provide free wills and other estate planning documents for emergency first responders. The LSBA Young Lawyers’ Division Wills for Heroes program is designed and overseen by the Wills for Heroes Foundation, which has helped tens of thousands of first responders by implementing these programs nationwide.

“Our entire team of volunteers deserves to share in this honor,” commented Layrisson as he received the certificate of appreciation.
